Flying Kites is an excellent way to enjoy the flying hobbies. The variety in kites and skill level requires offers both the relaxing flyer and the daredevil flyer something.
The history of kite flying spans hundreds of years and across many continents. They have been used to lift people and cargo during times of war or just to launch and watch at a favorite beach. Along with the fact that a kite can draw interest from an early age and pull you in or late in life. Flying kites is truly a hobby worthy of the phrase “fun for all ages and the entire family”.
Skill level required for putting a kite into the air varies greatly, depending on both the interest in the flyer and the type of kite.
The simplest of kites are known as single line kites, and can vary greatly in size and shape. From the traditional diamond shape with a long tail for stability, to the delta shape and even a flying box, known as a box kite. All are tethered via a single line and can provide many hours of fun and enjoyment.
Two lines kites are known as stunt kites and require practice and skill to maneuver. Once the flyer has learned the basics of flying these kites, they can develop their skills in flying different patterns, etc.
The four line kite, is more widely known as the quad. These flying kites are the most difficult to learn and fly, but completely worth the time to master.
